群体性事件作为社会矛盾的综合反映 ,是世界各国普遍存在的社会现象。国外境外学术界对群体性事件的性质和类型 ,形成原因及过程 ,群体性事件中的群众心理及行为特征 ,处置原则等方面都有系统的研究 ,这对于正确认识和处置我国社会转型过程中的群体性事件 ,具有一定的借鉴价值。

Collective incident, as a comprehensive reflection of social contradiction, is a sort of social phenomenon, as extensively existing all over the world.Abroad and outside-boundary's academic circles have carried out systematic researches on the nature and patterns,the forming reasons and courses of collective incidents, the mass psychology and behavioral characteristics, the disposal principles and strategies and so on in collective incidents. This has certain experience-drawing value in correctly understanding and disposing of collective incidents during the course of social pattern-converting.
